Bullying at Home
Trust
Parents are informed about the character education strategies that have been taught to their children. This allows teachers, students and parents to work together in acting responsible and maintaining a safe respectful community.
We need to demonstrate how parents can sometimes overlook bullying at home. We need to recognize these bullying actions that kids see from parents, and then do at school to others.
Parents need to know how to receive respect from their children so their children will feel comfortable speaking up when something goes wrong at their school or in their community.

It is very hard to change a student’s values when the school is doing one thing and the parents are doing another. Prevention starts at home. Have parents on board can help them to understand how they can help in the prevention of bullying in their child’s school.
Bullying is a symptom of bad behaviour.  Bad behaviour is learned by what kids see.  We have online anti bullying information for parents to help them understand school bullying and how parents can help in reducing the bullying at their child’s school and in their community.

What an exciting night May 5th was! Students, teachers, and parents were very pleased with the evening. Children were talking about Mr. Jordan anti bullying assemblies the next day. Daytime television aired the children at Eastdale speaking about the anti bullying event from Monday to Friday. The Sentinel Review did an article on school bullying last Thursday. Heart Fm had the interview they did with Jim about report bullying on throughout the day on Tuesday. Our committee was really excited about the community involvement. We have enjoyed working with both of you. Thank you for the tremendous job you did. We will definitely recommend Jim and Report Bullying to other groups. I have already put his name down as a suggestion at a conference I was at this past week to do with my job at A Child First. It was the Early Childhood Resource Teacher Network Conference. We wish you all the best, and thank you for getting our school off to a great start about stopping bullying in our school. I was excited to hear that the school will be taking advantage and signing up for the Report Bullying on line program. Thank you so much and best wishes, Tracey Thompson

Having a strong commitment through consistent training from teachers and also having a strong parental involvement and community support is the foundation that can turn any community into a caring and respectful community.
